The Rules
1. Lay the landing zone and hitting zone flat. Hitting zone should be 10 ft from the landing zone (standard tournament play).
2. Pin corners of both zones down with the provided Sand Shot flags.
3. Place the provided Sand Shot can in the middle of the Drink Zone to start.
4. Ready to play.
Any number of players per team. Each player chips 3 balls per round from the hitting zone toward the landing zone.
Points awarded where the ball lands: 1 PT (closest), 2 PTS, or 4 PTS.
Land in the Drink Zone? No points, but the other team drinks. The hitting team then chooses whether to place an empty can anywhere in the landing zone as an opportunity to win.
Hit any can on the board? That's an automatic win.
Or be the first team to 15 points, no need to hit it exact.
In March of 2026, the family headed to the beach for vacation. It was their first trip where Chuck's daughters requested to bring their boyfriends along, one of which being Ryan. The weather was great, but boredom set in and they needed something to do. They weren't in the mood for cornhole. The boards were too heavy to haul down the beach. So Chuck and Ryan grabbed their golf clubs and started chipping around. The competitive nature kicked in, and before long Chuck drew a target board right there in the sand. Points for different zones. By Chuck's fourth beer, he'd planted an empty can at the back of the board and declared, "First one to hit the can wins automatically."
And just like that, Sand Shot was born.
